Why would a designer write a book of poems

I am an ethnographer of imagination. My poems are like field notes. They contain implicit meanings of the things I have observed and learned.

We all have an innate capacity to write poems

My poems appeared unannounced in my consciousness. They needed the right moment to surface.

I was prepared for the poems

A feeling of vulnerability allowed me to notice the poems in me.

Poems are personal and relatable

Poems express what each of us can see and feel when we cultivate humility, curiosity, and an open mind.

They help us notice nuances of life

Each of the poems in this book was triggered by a mundane moment, such as a solitary feather drifting in the wind, and turned that moment into an insight.

Poems nourish the soul

A curious mind searching for tranquility can discover a poem within.

This book is my gift to design students and teachers

I hope these poems will prepare you to become more curious, empathic and open to chance encounters.

Feel it, imagine it and express it

The real value of the book is your own interpretation of it.
